2023-2024 empowerment grant application

Franklinton Development Association is honored to consider funding programs that serve the following zip codes: 43222, 43223, 43204, and 43228. To be eligible for funding, a program must fall within the following two categories:

Youth and Family Engagement: Programs will support safe, thriving, healthy connected neighborhoods for all residents. Funded work will be responsive to the needs of Columbus residents.

Workforce Development: Programs will help ensure that the city maintains a prepared workforce, one that is well-positioned to enhance their skills for the future of employment in Columbus.

Organizations receiving mini-grants (up to $25,000) must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of community engagement and data-backed outcomes. Collection of reports and program data will occur throughout the funding period. Applications for 2023-2024 Empowerment Grant closed August 18, 2023. We have notified applicants that applied for the second round in mid-September.

SPRING 2024 UPDATE:

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) has been the primary source of funding for this program. As a result of expiring funds, the Empowerment Grants program will conclude with our current funding period. As intended by ARPA funds, this program helped close a gap of services that Columbus families and youth experienced as a result of the COVID-19 health pandemic.

If your organization does not work on the westside of Columbus, please reach out to one of the other partner agencies listed below.
